Beautiful Spokane! Late October greetings from your friends at Spokane Interplayers Theatre!

Same Time, Next Year theatre patron Vickie wrote "...I had such a fun evening at the theatre on Friday!  I had to do a little urging to get him to go, and afterward he was the one telling me what a great job the actors did and how much he enjoyed it. Thanks so much ..."

Happy moments, human emotion and ultimately wisdom:  Same Time, Next Year

Don't miss, running through Nov. 3,  the acclaimed and ageless comedy Same Time, Next Year by Bernard Slade.  The show was made famous by Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn in the movie of the same name. National stage star, Beth Hallaren, joins local favorite, Cameron Lewis (Singin' in the Rain), in this delightful story of two persons whose lives entwine over 25 years, to provide happy moments, human emotion and ultimately, wisdom.  Director Esta Rosevear said “Same Time, Next Year is such a joy and a hoot to direct. The lines and the action keep us laughing throughout the rehearsals...we can't wait to present it to Interplayers' patrons.  This play represents a walk down 25 years in memory lane. Come and enjoy an evening of great acting and a sweet story you won't soon forget!"

The Interplayers production features two extraordinary actors:  Beth Hallaren (Doris) last appeared as Launce in Two Gentleman of Verona in New York City.  A member of the Actor's Equity Association, Beth has been seen across the country in productions such as: Romeo and Juliet, Floyd Collins, A Christmas Carol, Rosemary (Jeff Award), Sunday in the Park with George (Jeff Award), Annie, Noises Off and Playboy of the Western World at such highly considered venues as Trinity Repertory Company, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Victory Gardens, and the Guthrie Theatre. She earned an MFA from the Brown University/Trinity Rep Consortium and is originally from Chicago.   Spokane's own Cameron Lewis (George), appeared as Cosmo Brown in the tremendously popular, Singin’ in the Rain at our sister theatre, the Spokane Civic.  He is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, NYC.  Recently, he spent the summer with Montana’s Bigfork Summer Playhouse appearing in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), The 1940’s Radio Hour, and Sugar.  Cameron’s other professional credits include The Lion in Winter, Carousel, Gypsy, Pirates of Penzance, and Swing.  He worked for two seasons with New York’s Hangingcow Productions, performing in the musical parodies My Big Fat Geek Wedding and The SOUPrano’s (Mama’s Funeral) at The American Theatre of Actors.  Cameron has hosted Sesame Street Live as has appeared in several national tours for the American Family Theatre.

Grace and Glorie

Interplayers third show of the 2007-2008 season, set for November 21st through December 8th is Grace and Glorie by Tom Ziegler.  Cultures and generations hilariously collide when an illiterate, yet saavy ninety-year-old mountain woman is cared for by the Harvard-educated, transplanted New Yorker, who is assigned as her hospice volunteer.

Ellen Crawford, Nurse Lydia Wright of  tv's "ER" and "The Fitz" of last season’s 'Sparky and The Fitz' will direct, with veteran L.A. actresses Brady Rubin  (West Wing, NYPD Blue) and Karen Kalensky (SNL, All My Children) in the title roles. It is a very funny and touching piece, full of revelation and hope-- a perfect show for the holiday season.
