Sparky and the Fitz
Interplayers is so proud to present to Spokane a west coast premier of Craig Volk's "Sparky and the Fitz," starring the performers for whom the play was written, Ellen Crawford and Mike Genovese. Spokane perennial Chris LeBlanc joins the cast.
"Sparky and the Fitz" is a comedy based on a retirement-age love triangle. The story centers on the everyday relationship between the husband (Sparky) and the wife (Fitz). It sees Fitz is teetering on the edge of a huge decision if she should stay with the status quo and let the years continue to roll on by or jump into another relationship with the UPS man. How she makes her final choice is a hilarious final scene.
Ellen Crawford and Mike Genovese are veteran performers, best known for their roles on television's "ER." Ellen performed the role of Nurse Lydia Wright; Mike was Sgt. Al Grabarsky. Fans of Star Trek and NYPD Blue may also recognize Mike Genovese.
Mike and Ellen have very graciously agreed to participate, along with the play's author, in a "talk back" session after the performances on May 13 and May 16. What a great way to celebrate Mothers' Day by bringing mom to a west coast premier show, and introducing her to the playwright and nationally televised actors!
Performances are scheduled for May 10-26, with the exception of the night of the Lilac Parade. Performances on Wednesdays and Thursdays are at 7:30 pm; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm. Matinees on Sunday May 13, Saturday May 19, Sunday May 20, and Saturday May 26 are all at 2 pm.
